Florence Airport Trains
There are is no train station at Florence Airport but there is a major train station within the city that can connect you to the rest of Italy and Europe.
Firenze Santa Maria Novella is the main train station in Florence and is situated at the edge of the historic old town about 500 metres from Piazza del Duoma. Santa Maria Novella station is the start or end line for trains such as Eurostar going to cities all over Europe.
Some of the cities which you can connect to from here are Paris, Vienna and Munich making Europe feel smaller than it really is!
Most of the train journeys can be done on the sleepers trains making an overnight journey go faster by sleeping all the way in comfortable surroundings. Here are two examples of overnight train journeys from Florence;-
Florence to Munich Depart 21.53 Arrives 08.00 = Cost £ 74.00
Florence to Vienna Depart 17.40 Arrives 08.30 = Cost £ 87.00
Florence Smaller Train Stations
Campo Di Marte is another of Florence main railway stations, however it is not as busy as Santa Maria Novella station.
Other small stations are Firenze Campo Marte situated near to Florence Stadium and Firenze Rifredi. If you are taking an Intercity train into Florence, you may need to change at Rifredi station for a connecting train to Firenze S.M.N.
Other local railways connect Florence with Borgo San Lorenzo and Siena.
