Florence Bus Routes

There are many beautiful place in Florence that you may want to visit by bus. Here are just a few historical places that tourists tend to visit whilst staying in the city.

The most popular tourist site in Florence is the domed cathedral 'The Duomo', also known as Santa Maria del Fiore - this really is the crowning architectural jewel of Florence! Nearby to The Duomo is 'Campanile' and the Baptistery buildings which are also tourist hot spots where you can get excellent views of Florence city.

Tucked away within the heart of the city you will find Bartolomeo Ammanati's Fountain of Neptune in the Piazza della Signoria. This famous masterpiece is made of marble sculpture which is at the terminus of the Roman aqueduct, which after all these years (1563-1565) is actually still functioning.

Florence was built along side the great river of 'Arno', of which it has many bridges crossing as it Arno river runs straight through the old part of the city. One of the most famous bridges for tourists to visit is the 'The Ponte Vecchio' which is really quite unique as it has a most striking feature of a multitude of shops having being built upon its edges and being supported by stilts. This bridge is in fact the only bridge along the Arno river which survive World War II.
